If cleared to enroll after attending, families will be sent a link to register within 48 hours.
A few notes about our Experience SOCHH Audit Days:
- This is not meant to be a portrayal of SOCHH's academic model but rather a snap shot of what it "feels" like to be in class and on the campus.
- Prior to the year starting, we reevaluate each of our classes and the makeup of students in each class. As well, we reevaluate where our teachers will be best suited and for which grade(s) they will be of most benefit to. With that, there is no guaretee of a certain teacher year to year.
- Audit day is FREE.
- Please make sure you have read all prior information (above) regarding our offered programs and pricing BEFORE arriving on campus. The tour and interview is not a time to ask what programs we have, but rather ask any specific quiestions that you may have AFTER reading through our general descriptions/days/times/age requirements for the interseted program.
- TK Age Requirements Note: As a reminder, SOCHH's TK age requirement is that your student must be 4 turning 5 by January. We are aware the district is a later date, and if you’d like to hear more about our thoughts regarding our TK/Kinder students, feel free to take a listen to a message from our SOCHH Director, HERE. We DO allow exceptions to our TK age requirement younger on a case by case basis. Please email enrollment@sochh.org to find out how to get an exception. As well, we are NOT a FULL TIME program for TK/Kinder. Our TK program runs T/W/TH from 9am-1pm and our Kinder program runs T/W/TH from 9am-2:30pm.
FAQ: What is an Experience Day?
Answer: An Experience Day allows your student to participate in one of our programs for a day to see how they fit with our curriculum and environment. They will meet other students, join classroom activities, and get a sense of what their typical school day would look like at SOCHH.
FAQ: What days and times does my student attend for an experience day?
Answer: For families looking for an alternative to their current traditional school we recommend they do a full week with us Monday through Friday. For Homeschooling families that aren’t sure which might be best we suggest they start with M/F and then try SOCHH Core.
FAQ: Is SOCHH a school or a homeschool program?
Answer: SOCHH is classified as a learning center, but we offer a program that looks and feels like a regular school. All of our students are registered as homeschool students with the state of California. This gives us the flexibility to tailor the curriculum while still providing a structured educational experience.
FAQ: How do I combine programs?
Answer: We offer flexibility depending on your needs. You can enroll in just one day, such as Mondays for Arts & Innovation, or all five days to create a robust academic experience. We recommend students interested in all five days do them consecutively, but you can also mix and match depending on your schedule and goals.
FAQ: My student has specific academic gaps. Can you help with that?
Answer: Absolutely. One of the hallmarks of our program is academic differentiation. We work with students individually to identify areas where they may need extra support or challenge them to move ahead faster, all within our small class sizes.
FAQ: How does your program help with socialization?
Answer: All of our programs include ample opportunities for peer interaction. In addition to structured group projects, students have free time during recess and lunch to build friendships and connections. Our small class sizes foster a close-knit community, making it easier for students to bond.
FAQ: What if I’m only interested in one or two days per week?
Answer: That’s perfectly fine! Our programs are designed to be flexible. You can enroll in just the days that work for your schedule and student’s needs. For example, if they are interested in hands-on learning, Mondays are great for science and art. If they need more academic support, Fridays with the LEAPS program might be the best fit.
FAQ: What’s the difference between your Core Program and other programs?
Answer: The Core Program, held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, is designed to provide a comprehensive education with a focus on Math, ELA, and Social Studies. It serves as the backbone of the student's academic week, while the Monday and Friday programs offer additional enrichment and support in specialized areas.
