Academy Rules

Please review the Academy Rules before applying for your Grading.

Attendance Requirements

Each Grading has a minimum attendance requirement:

• Grade 1 to 2: Minimum of 2 months and 18 classes in Grade 1
• Grade 2 to 3: Minimum of 3 months and 24 classes in Grade 2
• Grade 3 to 4: Minimum of 4 months and 32 classes in Grade 3
• Grade 4 to Pre-Level 1: Minimum of 5 months and 40 classes in Grade 4

You should have received a text from us confirming that you have met these requirements.

If you have not received a text or want to confirm that you have satisfied your attendance requirements, please contact us before applying for your Grading.

Application Cut-Off Dates

The following cut-off dates apply to each Grading:

• Grade 1 to 2: 1 week before the Grading
• Grade 2 to 3: 1 week before the Grading
• Grade 3 to 4: 1 week before the Grading
• Grade 4 to Pre-Level 1: 1 month before the Grading
• Pre-Level 1 to Level 1: 1 month before the Grading
• Level 2+: 6 months before the Grading

Applications close on the cut-off date or earlier if the Grading is booked out. 

Active Membership or Training Card Requirement

You must have an active membership or Training Card with at least one class remaining at the time of application and on the date of your Grading.

Check-in Policy

You must arrive 15 minutes early to check in and prepare for the Grading.

Please plan ahead. If you are late, you will forfeit your Grading Fee and will not be allowed to participate, regardless of the reason for your lateness.

This policy ensures that all Gradings run efficiently and conclude on time.

Uniform and Equipment Policy

You must wear your full uniform for your Grading. This includes:

• An Academy T-Shirt with your Grading badge (Grade 2+ only) attached to the sleeve.
• Plain, full-length black pants or leggings with no large logos or designs.
• Socks and appropriate Kung Fu shoes or smooth-soled martial arts shoes.

Grade 4 to Pre-Level 1 and Pre-Level 1 to Level 1 candidates must also wear:

• A mouthguard.
• Headgear with a face mask or protective visor to protect the eyes.
• Any other protective gear as desired (optional).

If you do not have a full uniform, please purchase yours at Pitt St or through our Online Shop as soon as possible.

We cannot guarantee that we will have stock available for purchase on the day, and you will not be allowed to participate in the Grading without a full uniform.

Spectator Policy

Except for the following individuals, spectators are not permitted:

• Children and dependants of participants
• Parents of underage participants
• Carers of participants

Cancellation Policy

Grading fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If you are late or do not attend your Grading for any reason (including illness or misadventure), you will forfeit your Grading fee.

If you wish to postpone your Grading, please contact us at least one week before your Grading Date, and we will allow you to book a replacement Grading within the next six months.

Re-attempt Policy

If you attend your Grading and do not pass please contact us to book another Grading within the next six months for a re-attempt fee of $39.

The full Grading fee will be payable for any subsequent re-attempts.
