• TWHC Canada Pre-application Questionnaire

  • For Australian & New Zealand applicants

We’ve put together this questionnaire to see if you’re eligible for the Canadian Working Holiday Visa and to see if our program fits with your plans for your Canadian adventure.

Please answer all questions honestly—there are no right or wrong answers. Your honest replies will help us to provide the best support and recommendations moving forward to give you the best advice (and shot at success!).

After you submit, our team will review everything and get back to you within 48-72 hours. If you dont complete this form and press submit - you will not be contacted.

    UK or European Passport?
Visa and program requirements vary for UK and European applicants. If you hold a British or European passport, please complete this UK/EU pre-application questionnaire instead. Our EU based team will then get in touch to chat more about next steps.

  • TWHC Terms & Conditions

  • Are you a current University student?*
  • What type of employment are you looking for?*
  • We do not have waitlists, nor do we allow applicants to swap employers once they have been confirmed. Please make your  preference choices carefully.

If you do not see your preferred employer listed as an employment option, it is either because the employer is already full and no longer accepting applicants, or they have not yet confirmed their numbers for the season. Please continue to check our website for up-to-date information on when employers are open and available.

  • Please check current employer availability on the Canadian Employers page, on our website HERE

  • Do you have previous experience working for a hotel?
  • HOTEL FACTS:

    • Interview Difficulty and Expectations: Hotel employment interviews are significantly more challenging than resort interviews. Applicants must research the general area and township of the property, have a solid knowledge of the brand, and recall details about various hotel facilities and facts. Luxury hotels have very high standards for all of their employees. Competition for certain hotel roles is intense, resulting in a much higher decline rate compared to resorts.
    • Indoor Work: Hotel work involves roles that are entirely indoors.
    • Ski and Summer Passes: Our hotel partners do not offer free ski or summer mountain passes. However*:
    • Fairmont Whistler: Provides a winter staff benefit of $1,000 towards the purchase of a winter ski pass. No summer staff benefit is offered.
    • Four Seasons, Whistler: Offers a winter staff benefit of $1,000 towards the purchase of a winter ski pass. No summer staff benefit is provided.
    • Fairmont Mountain Region: Does not offer any winter or summer staff benefits.
    • The Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler: Provides a winter staff benefit of $1,000 towards the purchase of a winter ski pass. No summer staff benefit is offered.

Please note that hotel benefits can change without TWHC being notified. Refer to the employers' websites for the most up-to-date information.

*Luxury hotels typically pay higher wages than resorts, so even though a lift pass is not included, the higher wages will more than make up for this by the end of the season!

Fairmont Mountain Region: If this is your location preference, you will be considered for all three Fairmont Mountain Region properties: Chateau Lake Louise, Jasper Park Lodge and Banff Springs. Fairmont will take your location preference into consideration but ultimately your placement location will be determined by the recruiter and the needs of each property.

    IMPORTANT:
Back-of-House Roles: Approximately 95% of hotel roles are back-of-house, including housekeeping, stewarding (aka dishwashing), and kitchen positions.

If you lack previous hotel experience, the likelihood of being placed in a back-of-house role is extremely high, should you pass the interview.

If you lack experience and are not interested in a back-of-house role and want the best chance of getting a job offer, do not select to work for a hotel!

  • Some Canadian employers have very conservative grooming policies that are quite strict. Please let us know if you have the following:*
  • TWHC fully supports personal expressions of individuality. However, some Canadian employers remain very conservative and may have specific concerns related to the points mentioned above.

Our goal is to ensure that both you and the employer are set up for success. If you choose not to adjust your appearance to meet the specified grooming expectations, we regret that we will be unable to accept you into our program.
