LWSD SRCLT Trauma-Informed Nutrition Security Training
  • You're invited to a customized training opportunity led by Leah’s Pantry, a nationally recognized leader in trauma-informed nutrition.

This training is designed for the Live Well San Diego South Region Community Leadership Team (LWSD SRCLT), which is interested in adopting a trauma-informed approach to customer service and supporting key priorities in the region. Leah’s Pantry, in collaboration with the LWSD SRCLT Food Insecurity Work Group and the LWSD SRCLT backbone organization (Department of Strategy and Community Engagement, County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency), tailored this training for support staff and volunteers who administer charitable food programming and participate in behavioral health intake.

    Participants will:

    • Gain a basic understanding of the relationship between trauma and nourishment and how that affects food distribution work and/or food security work.
    • Discuss ways to reframe and respond to difficult behaviors in a trauma-informed way.
    • Learn customer service skills and best practices for engaging with community members, especially during times of uncertainty and stress.
    • Engage in personal and group reflection.

This virtual training will be accessed through TalentLMS, an online learning platform. Participants will also gain access to optional resources and find a link for our two-hour Zoom session from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. PT on September 8, 2025, in TalentLMS.

Access to TalentLMS will be given via email two weeks before the Zoom session.
