  • How can I meet pets in the shelter?

    This may answer your question:

You can meet animals at the shelter during open hours, no appointment needed! Adoptions are first come, first serve. Adopters must be over 18 years old and have a valid ID.

See the open hours for our locations here.

  • How do I adopt an animal in a foster home?

    This may answer your question:

Let the shelter staff know you’re interested in adopting this pet by sending in an Interest Form [link]. An adoption counselor will be in touch with you soon to talk to you about the pet and to set up a meet-and-greet with their foster parent.

  • What is this dog's breed?

    This may answer your question:

Because we don't do DNA tests on dogs in the shelter, we usually do not know their breed. If a dog comes to us with an validated breeding record or DNA test, we'll include their breed in their profile.

Even if we don't know their breed, we do know their personalities and often have behavior history that we are happy to talk to you about!

  • Does this pet get along with other animals?

    This may answer your question:

If we have any known history on a pet's history with other animals, that will be included in their profile. If you don't see anything about that in their profile, it means we don't have history.

If you have a dog that you want to introduce to a dog in the shelter, we are happy to help with that!

  • Is this pet good with children?

    This may answer your question:

If we have any known history on a pet's history with children, that will be included in their profile. If you don't see anything about that in their profile, it means we don't have history.

We are happy to safely introduce your children to the pets in the shelter!

  • Is this pet potty-trained?

    This may answer your question:

Nearly all cats and kittens will use the litter box without needing training.

For dogs, we often aren't able to tell if they are potty-trained in the shelter. If we have any potty-training history from previous homes, that will be included in their profile.
