Handmade Holiday Market: Vendor Application

UVA invites Active UVA Members to participate in a very special one-day event to share their art with the community around the holiday season. On Shop Small Saturday, UVA will host a special Handmade Holiday Market, where visitors will come to UVA's campus to enjoy a variety of art experiences, delicious bites and drinks, and purchase artwork from local UVA Artist Members for themselves or their loved ones for the holiday. This is a FREE opportunity for our Artist Members to help support them in their personal artistic practices.
Each Artist Member will get one 8ft long table and be featured in either our Gallery II space or our Studio East space. UVA will provide the tables, but the participating artist will be required to provide their own display items and be prepared to manage their own sales. Artists will get to keep 100% of the sales they make during the event.
While the event is free to Artist Members, each applicant will be juried to ensure quality. As with all of our vending events, UVA is dedicated to ensuring that the artwork on display at the Handmade Holiday Market is created by the exhibiting artist, and of quality. Below is a quick reference of the jury guidelines which apply to all categories and applicants:
- Buy/Sell, imported, or mass production work of any kind is not permitted.
- All designs must be created by the participating artist, with the exception of "fan art". "Fan art" is welcome, but will be accepted depending on how the artist interprets the original content and recreates it in their own style/designs.
- Prints or reproductions are welcome, but must be created in limited editions and only include the artist's original designs.
- Due to limited space, we are only accepting 13 artists in total. Additionally, we are only accepting 1 artist per category to ensure a diverse amount of offerings and ensure a more successful and positive experience for the working artists who participate (subject to change depending on the number of applications received).
- After jurying all vendors to determine quality, artists will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. This means that if two artists in the same category meet our quality standards, the artist who applied first will be accepted.
All applications for Vendors are reviewed and juried by UVA Staff after the November 7th deadline. If selected, you will receive notification of your acceptance and no later than November 14th.

APPLICATION TIMELINE
- Application Deadline: November 7th
- All Vendors Notified: No later than November 14th
VENDOR EVENT TIMELINE
- Vendors will have the opportunity to arrive and set up their table displays between 9am and 11:30am on November 29th. All tables must be set up and ready to serve customers no later than 12pm.
- Event Hours: 12pm-7pm (Vendors must be present at their table for the entire duration of the event).
- Load-Out: Begins at 7pm. (Vendors are welcome to do light packing starting no earlier than 6:45pm).
