    2025 Guild Club Awards
  • The Curtin Student Guild Club Awards celebrate the achievements of student clubs that have enriched campus life through creativity, leadership, and community engagement. Whether you're a club committee member or a proud supporter, these awards are your opportunity to recognise excellence across Curtin’s vibrant club community.

     

    General Eligibility (All Categories)

    To be eligible for any award, clubs must:

    • Be fully registered with the Curtin Student Guild in 2025.
    • Have conducted themselves to a high standard throughout the year. (i.e. respectful interactions, both online and in person, with Guild and University staff, members, students, community, etc.).
    • Represent the Guild and Curtin University in a positive light.
    • Not be subject to any substantiated complaints or misconduct.
    • Not have committed any compliance breaches or demonstrated poor behaviour.

    Note: Each award category has additional eligibility & criteria which is listed below.

    How to Prepare Your Nomination

    To make your nomination stand out and meet the judging criteria effectively:

    1. Start Now

    • Read the form questions in advance.
    • Begin gathering materials and drafting responses well before the deadline (Midnight, 1 October 2025).
    • Use the “save” button in the form to work progressively. 
    • Even if you create a separate document or presentation, you must still answer each question within the form directly, as judges will score each form answer.

    2. Be Specific & Provide Evidence

    • Use real examples from your club’s activities.
    • Include dates, numbers, and names where relevant (e.g., “We hosted 5 events with over 300 attendees”).

    Attach or link to:

    • Event photos, meeting minutes, handover documents etc. 
    • Testimonials from members or attendees
    • Social media posts or analytics
    • Documents like meeting minutes or reports

    If using links - ensure the correct access is provided for "anyone with link" can view.

    • Award Categories & Prizes 
    • Club of the Year – $600

      • Recognises the club that has consistently demonstrated excellence across all areas: governance, engagement, innovation, and contribution to university life.

      Best Club Event – $350

      • Celebrates a standout event that was well-planned, engaging, inclusive, and aligned with club objectives.

      Best New Club – $350

      • Recognises a newly registered club that has shown strong planning, governance, and impact in its first year.

      Most Improved Club – $350

      • Awarded to a club that has shown measurable growth and improvement in key areas from the previous year.

      Runner-Up Awards

      • Clubs that narrowly miss out on winning may receive Function Pack Points for use next year.
    • Award-Specific Eligibility & Criteria 
    • These criteria apply in addition to the general eligibility criteria.

      Most Improved Club

      • Registered with the Guild for at least 24 consecutive months.
      • Provide a clear comparison between previous and current year performance, including:
        • Membership growth or retention
        • Event quality and/or frequency
        • Governance improvements
        • Marketing and engagement enhancements
      • Include evidence of improvement, such as:
        • Updated strategic plans
        • Feedback from members
        • Examples of new initiatives or changes made

      Best New Club

      • First registered with the Guild between July 1, 2024 and now.
      • Held at least one event per semester since registration.
      • Demonstrate:
        • Strong initial governance and committee engagement
        • Clear club objectives and alignment with events
        • Early signs of member engagement and growth

      Best Club Event

      • Event must:
        • Align with your club’s stated objectives
        • Achieve the outcomes set out in the event proposal, such as:
          • Attendance goals
          • Industry or community engagement
          • Member satisfaction
        • Demonstrate efficient use of resources, including budget summary, sponsorships and/or partnerships (if applicable)
        • Include supporting evidence, such as posters, flyers, social media posts, surveys, feedback, or budget documents
      • Desirable:
        • Highlight interactive or creative elements, such as: Q&A sessions, games, polls, or workshops
        • Be innovative or original in concept or delivery
        • Be inclusive and accessible, with details on any accessibility measures (e.g. sensory-friendly options, physical access)


      Club of the Year

      • Meet all general eligibility criteria to a high standard.
      • Have at least one committee member who completed Club Induction Training.
      • Demonstrate excellence across:
        • Governance and planning
        • Events and engagement
        • Marketing and communications
        • Contribution to university life
        • Inclusivity and innovation

  • Important Note - Most Improved Club

    If you are applying for the Most Improved Club award, please ensure your responses in each form question clearly explain how your club has improved compared to the previous year.

    Wherever possible, include evidence.

  • Marketing, Communications & Membership

  • Testimonials & References
  • Testimonials or references must come from:

    • Club members who are not on the committee, or
    • External stakeholders, such as Curtin staff (faculty or department), contractors, sponsors, or venue partners.

    You may include:

    • Quotes or written statements
    • Screenshots or links to emails, messages, or social media comments
    • Names and roles of the individuals providing the testimonial (with permission)

    These help support your nomination and demonstrate impact.

    Note: All nominations received for The People's Choice award will also include these testimonials when your application is reviewed.
