The Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation is thrilled to open the 2026 Darwin Aborigial Art Fair (DAAF) Art Centre registration process!
We are delighted to continue offering our hybrid format! Art Centres have the option to participate in the physical event in Darwin, or on the online platform, or BOTH, from 6 - 9 August 2026!
The key details about the 2026 DAAF are:

Registrations strickly close: Please note registration cutoff has been extended to Monday 16 March 2026, 11:59pm due to flooding and extreme weather some Art Centres are facing.
DAAF Foundation Memberships
How does your membership status affect your participation in DAAF 2026?
As of November 2025, we have introduced a new Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF) Foundation Membership process and every Art Centre and Peak Body must apply, or reapply, for membership by 2 March 2026.
The application form will be reviewed and approved before you are guaranteed participation in the 2026 Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair.
DAAF Foundation memberships have an annual fee of $500+GST. As an official member, your organisation receives the following benefits:
- Voting rights at all annual and special general meetings
- Opportunities to contribute to setting the key priorities and activities of our organisation
- Automatic approval for participation in the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (physical and online fairs)
- A $500+GST discount on the participation fee in the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair
- Multi-user access to DAAF Foundation’s community of practice (“The Hub”) which has a growing number of resources, workshop opportunities, online forums, and learning modules focused around sales and marketing for Art Centres to access
- Early bird access to purchase tickets to our events
- General support (eg letters of support, and promotion, program participation opportunities and more!)

We highly encourage you to submit the application before 2 March to ensure you receive a discount for your 2026 Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair exhibition booth!

If your organisation is an industry specialist (non-Art Centre), please note that the EOI invitations will have been sent to you in February 2026. If you would like to submit an EOI to be an Industry Specialist at DAAF 2026 and have not received an invitation please email Reahn Hayman, Event Manager via reahn@daaf.com.au.
YOUR DAAF REGISTRATION CHECKLIST
Information you will need to gather before starting your form includes:
- Confirming membership to the DAAF Foundation (You can check if you’re a member here: https://daaf.com.au/art-centres/what-is-an-art-centre/. If your Art Centres is not a member please reach out to Sammy at sammy@daaf.com.au.
- Your company details (including your ABN)
- Contact details (please make sure that this is the person who will be managing all the communications with us!)
- A 50 word blurb about your Art Centre
- Your “Featured Artist” for 2026. This is the artist that you would like our marketing team to highlight in our 2026 campaign, and who you will also feature in your booth
- High resolution images that you are happy for DAAF to use for advertising purposes. You will need the following images:
-Profile of your featured artist
-Featured artist’s artwork (ideally this would be a piece that is available at DAAF, but this is not mandatory - we understand that it’s hard to hold onto these pieces!)
-Your Art Centre, image of the Country or artists working on Country
-A general artwork for sale (again, if you are unable to hold onto this artwork until DAAF, that is ok!)
Please note that if you need to change who your featured artist is, or the images of artwork, you can do this anytime before 30 April 2026! We understand that we are asking for this information really, and things can change!
- Certificate of Currency for Public Liability
- Cultural Keepers Program: Ask your staff and artists if they are interested in participating in the Cultural Keepers symposium (to attend or present a presentation), or to work with a First Nations curator during bump-in and opening of the Fair
- DAAF Online: would you like to participate in the online Art Fair?
Some of DAAF’s key participation guidelines and policies to note are:
- Registrations open on 2 February 2026, and will strictly close on 2 March 2026.
- To participate in the exhibition space at DAAF, your organisation must be an an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community owned and operated Art Centre and a current member of the DAAF Foundation.
- 100% of sales income must return to the Art Centres. It is not acceptable for a commission to be taken by any other associated business.
- Each Art Centre must use their own point of sales system (eg SAM) and issue customers with certificates of authenticity and biographies with their own Art Centre letterhead.
- Each Art Centre needs to provide their own Art Centre's branded catalogue labels/swing tags on each artwork.
- To be eligible for the Art Centre Travel Subsidy, DAAF Foundation will be seeking evidence of Indigenous Arts Workers and artists participating at the event. The subsidy is paid once the Art Centre feedback survey is completed in its entirety.
- Cancellations will be considered up to 30 June 2026 with full refund. There will be no refund for cancellations that occur after 30 June 2026.
- No more than 10% of the work in your booth can be merchandise.
