Community Organizations
The Dig In! Community Garden Grant Program, implemented by City Green and funded by Passaic County Board of County Commissioners, aims to support the creation of vibrant community gardens, for the production and access to healthy food, neighborhood beautification and community enhancement. Through Dig In!, City Green will provide financial, technical and educational assistance to develop, build and support community gardens and neighborhood farms throughout Passaic County.

GRANT SCHEDULE:

Application deadline: December 5th, 2025

Grant award notification: January 16th, 2026
Grant delivery: March - May 2026
Grant report deadline: November 25th, 2026

Estimated value including soil: $500 - $1,000COMPOST DELIVERY: Procurement and coordination of a compost delivery to top off your existing garden beds. Estimated value: $50 per yardMULCH DELIVERY: Procurement and coordination of wood mulch delivery at your garden site for pathways and other use. Estimated value: $40 per yardPICNIC TABLE or GARDEN SEATING: Select picnic tables, chairs or benches suitable for your garden site.
