2026 Neotropolis Theme Zone Faction Application Logo
  • 2026 Neotropolis Theme Zone Faction Application

  • This application must be filled out and submitted to be considered for placement in the official Theme Zone.

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 13TH, 2026.

All Factions must follow any/all event rules, including but not limited to the official SOUND & VOLUME POLICY, which you should read and familiarize yourself with via our website.

Nearly all Theme Zone spots come with complimentary power provided by the event.

If you have any questions about how to fill out this form, or about Factions and Theme Zone related things, please reach out to Factions@neotropolis.com

  • Theme Zone Faction Space Options

    Modules:

Small, subdivided spaces within a large pre-built scaffolding structure, such as Megablock One, the MegaMall, and Kaiju. Because the event provides infrastructure and power for modules, they are expected to be interactive spaces usable by the majority of attendees for the majority of the event, rather than private spaces.

Modules are usually 10 feet wide by 5 feet deep with a ceiling height of 6 foot 4 inches, or 10 feet wide by 10 feet deep with a height of 6 foot 4 inches. However, alternate configurations (5x5, 5x15, etc) are sometimes possible, so tell us what you're planning, and we'll see what we can do.  (6'4" is the minimum height for modules, but some may have more height clearance depending on placement and ground level - for builds with hard walls, this should be considered the limit, and the last few inches being a flex material or adjustable covering).

Some modules in Megablock One have a second-story option, or the option to have your module on the second story accessible by event-provided ladder or stairs. (NOTE: second story placement is VERY limited). Other module sizes MAY be possible by special request.

    Faction Camps:

Self built, standalone structures located throughout the Theme Zone, such as along the Main Drag. These can vary from a fully themed tent, to a themed trailer, to a large geodesic dome.

Please note any structures are subject to inspection by staff.

  • MEGABLOCK ONE (Modules)

Megablock One contains modules. These are small, pre-built spaces with specific dimensions. The event provides the structure and power for you to decorate and theme. Think about your exterior walls as well as interior spaces, especially if you're considering second story placement. Some spaces have an option for a two level (taking up BOTH a bottom story and second story) module, or a single-level module located on the bottom or second story. These second stories are accessible by event-provided proprietary ladders or stairs, and are therefore VERY limited. There are also no 'bar' spaces allowed in upstairs modules. Second story "VIP lounges/places to chill/etc" are de-prioritized vs fully fleshed out interactive spaces.
  • MegaMall (Modules)

If you are a Faction that has a retail-style presentation (not really selling anything, but looking like a shop or café for example), we may consider placing you in the MegaMall alongside our actual vendors. If you would like to apply to be an official vendor (actually selling goods for real money), please apply via the VENDORS page (www.neotropolis.com/vendors) on our website.
  • Kaiju (Modules)

There is a very limited number of available modules inside Kaiju. These will likely go to people who have an existing relationship with that Faction, but you are welcome to let us know if you are interested.
  • Main Drag

The main street of Neotropolis that runs down the middle of the city. Factions placed here have a themed side that faces the road. There may be opportunities in some cases to share at least one wall/structure with an adjoining faction, but you should be prepared to be a fully free-standing camp. One side that is fully-themed and street-facing side is the minimum, but having one or two additional themed sides to your camp will open up a lot more placement options.
  • Other Theme Zone areas

Outside of the module and main drag areas, you will need to have 2 themed sides (3 preferred). Expect to need to be a free-standing structure as well. Factions who can theme all sides and have free-standing walls will likely get placement priority and better placement options.
  • About Frontage Width and Depth (FOR NON-MODULE SPACES)

When answering the following questions, please explain how much of your asked for footprint is 'public interactive' space, and how much is for your backstage area. Measure this as a rectangle in 5' increments. A grid template will be provided later for submitting your layout.
    Be the Grid.

  • If you can be flexible with your footprint dimensions, it will be easier to place you in areas you want to be. Please let us know how much flexibility you have for your frontage and depth.

  • Layout

Please provide a link (set to PUBLIC/ANYONE) to a cloud storage folder (ex. google drive, dropbox, etc) where you have uploaded your Faction layout using the grid template provided, as well as your best DAY and NIGHT images of your Faction Camp or Module. Please include any other images that you think will be helpful in reviewing your build. If elements aren't complete, use this folder to upload in progress imagery so the Faction team can stay up to date with your progress as we work through the review and approval process.
  • For your layout, please use the applicable grid templates linked HERE

  • Reminder- Faction spaces, especially modules, are expected to be accessible (when possible) to the majority of attendees for the majority of the event. This includes attendees with disabilities.

  • Electricity and Power

As a general reminder, you may not use personal generators within most areas of the Theme Zone at Neotropolis. Any rare exceptions will be coordinated by staff through the power application process.

Most factions and module spaces approved for Theme Zone placement will be provided complimentary power by the event with submission and approval of a seperate Neo Power & Cable (NPC) power application form.

All factions will be required to pass a safety check to be supplied power at Neo 2026.
You must be ready to get on the NPC inspection schedule before 6pm on Tuesday (the day before the event opens).

If you are a returning faction and anticipate using the same amount of power this year, you may re-use the previous approved power application form provided by NPC to guide and expedite your power application. The NEW 2026 form will output the total power draw recorded by your faction at Neo 2025, and can be downloaded HERE. You may use this data to complete some of the questions below from NPC.

Take a moment to download and review the Neo power code HERE.

When designing your Faction or module build, it is important to know the minimum expectations for fire and electrical safety. This is covered in the power application, so please, follow the guidelines. Failure to do so may result in a denial of placement or power.

You DO NOT need to fill out the power application right now to submit your Faction application, but you WILL need to fill it out eventually.  You can start your review of the NPC power application now with the link below. Please note the power app is currently tailored to returning factions from NEO 2025. It will be updated as more factions get approved, so don't worry if your faction name does not show up yet.

    SPEED RUN THE PROCESS!:
As you build your faction space over the next few weeks and months, pick up a cheap Watt meter from your local hardware store or amazon. Take a photo of the total Amps reading with everything turned on and upload it below and submit it with your power application. You may bring this to NEO and keep it plugged in to your faction space to speed up your power inspection as well.

  • Early Access Passes

  • Please be aware, Early Access Passes (EAs) are ONLY for Faction members participating in pre-event build of your thematic space. These are very limited, so please do not ask for more than you absolutely need. We will be keeping track of who is actively building Faction spaces and who is not. EAs are not guaranteed even with Faction approval, and do not mean you get extra days to 'party' with your friends during event pre-build. You must follow all event rules that apply, especially with early access. Failure to comply may result in loss of future early access, and denial of future theme zone placement applications.

Also, do not post any photos or video of active or complete builds of other Factions, camps, or official event areas to any social media during this time. We ask for this because we want to preserve the WOW factor when attendees arrive and see the event as it's meant to be seen.

We will contact you with about a suggested early arrival date for your Faction based on the size of your proposed build. If your build is on the small size but unusually complex and you think you will need more time than is obvious, please give us a heads up.

Approved Factions will need to provide the name and email address of any person recieving an EA pass. You may not change the name on EA pass without approval from staff. (Obviously, you don't need to give us the names and email addresses until closer to the event, so just give us the ballpark number you think you'll need to complete your build.)

  • Camping and Satellite Camping for Factions

Factions may not camp or sleep within Megablock One, Megamall, or Kaiju modules. If your Faction is granted EA passes for set up, you may not land-grab (staking out large areas) camping space for other members of your Faction arriving later.

That said, if you are a module Faction, we do have satellite camping available.
