  • Please note: If solar install date is greater than 2 weeks away, we will seek to arrange the Meter Upgrade following the solar installation, to ensure the site is appropriately wired.

    If the property currently has a basic meter without an existing solar register, your solar system will need to remain off until after the meter upgrade has completed.  If the solar system is turned on before solar-compatible metering is installed, this may interfere with our ability to obtain an accurate final read from the basic meter.

  • Please note: this form is for standard Meter Upgrade requests only.  If a smart meter installation is required in conjunction with other metering or supply works onsite, we may require additional information about those works. If you need Diamond Energy to arrange additional metering/supply alteration works with your local Distributor (poles and wires company), please submit this form.

  • Important Information

    The smart meter installation is to be progressed between 11 and 15 business days after we receive your consent (unless otherwise advised).  Our metering provider will contact you via phone to arrange a specific date.  A power outage of 30 minutes to 3 hours will be required for the installation.

    Please be advised; specific to your distribution network, some electricity tariffs (eg. single rate, time of use, or time of use flexi) are no longer available after a meter upgrade. Changes to tariff availability are implemented by your local distributor and may result in a change of rates structure on bills after the new meter has been installed.  If you would like more information on how a meter upgrade may affect your property's tariff, please contact us on 1300 838 009 during business hours.
