IMPORT INSTRUCTIONS:
I) Address MUST be Canadian Address of Consignee Completing Your Canada Import Forms
II) Please sign by hand; digital signatures can be refused by customs as they will not match your government ID.
III) Canada Customs prefers we do not use printed cell phone pictures as they can be difficult to read. If you don't have access to a scanner (perhaps yours is packed), there are excellent free apps that you can use with your smart phone; two are Camscanner & Genius Scan. You do not need to pay for the licensed version as the free version only puts a small watermark at the bottom of each page. There are three forms in this package:
Broker (Customs) Agency Agreement:
• This document allows the customs broker to act on your behalf to clear customs.
Customs Declaration:
• This document establishes a value, origin and intent for customs.
• There are two value options: $120 (cats) and $300 (dogs). For pre-owned, adult family
pets, we use the shelter adoption fees above to establish a value for customs.
• If you are importing a newly purchased pet, we must use the purchase price. Customs can and does ask for proof of payment to support an invoice presented to them. Acceptable forms of proof of payment are Paypal receipts, bank wire reports and e-transfer reports.
One Time Authorization:
• Proof to the airline that we are allowed to pick-up your pets for you Along with the forms above, please send copies of:
• Your Passport (and visa or PR card if not a Canadian passport)
• Your flight itinerary or plane ticket
• Animal Health documents: vaccination and health certificates (if not already provided)
• Note: if you are entering Canada on a VISA, a copy of your entry permit must be
presented to CBSA at the time of release. If the owner (consignee) is arriving on the
same flight with the pet(s) we will need a copy of the visa document sent to us once it is issued on arrival.
