• Stack The City: Neighborhood Dance League Registration

Complete this registration to join the league and ensure your information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Program Schedule and Location

  • Join us for a four-week summer program beginning July 7 that builds skills, teamwork, and community spirit — culminating in a festive closing celebration, 'It St(ARTS) in the Park,' on Saturday, August 1 at Mary Hannon Park. Please note: the August 1 celebration is the program’s closing event, not the final competitive representation opportunity. After the four-week program, a limited number of participants will be selected to represent their neighborhoods at the Stackin’ Stylez Freestyle Dance Festival (October 9–12, 2026): 10 youth from Roxbury and 10 youth from Dorchester will be chosen. Selection is limited and not guaranteed for every participant, so attendance and participation do not ensure selection.

Dorchester - Tuesdays at Roberts Playground basketball court

Roxbury - Thursdays at Madison/Dewitt Park basketball court

My child doesn't live in Dorchester or Roxbury. Can they still participate?
Yes! Since this is our pilot season, families may register for whichever neighborhood location is most convenient. Your child does not have to live in Dorchester or Roxbury to participate.

How much does the program cost?
The program is completely free thanks to support from the City of Boston's Neighborhood Activation Grant, The Barr Foundation, and everyone who supports our work through donations and merchandise purchases.

      What should my child wear?
Each participant will receive an official Stack the City jersey that should be worn during the program. We also recommend:
      ● Sneakers (required)
      ● Comfortable athletic clothing
      ● Clothing appropriate for outdoor weather

      What should my child bring?
      Participants should bring:
      ● Water bottle
      ● Small snack
      ● Towel (optional but recommended)
      ● Any necessary medications (such as an inhaler, EpiPen, or other prescribed medical supplies)

How can I contact staff during program hours (5:00–7:00 PM)?
Parents and guardians will be added to a staff-moderated group text for updates and communication throughout the
      program.

What is the closing event on August 1?
The season concludes with It St(ARTS) in the Park, a free community celebration featuring:
      ● Dance performances
      ● Interactive workshops
      ● Food vendors
      ● Community activities
      ● A screening from our For The City documentary series
All Neighborhood Dance League participants will be recognized and celebrated during this event.

Does my child need dance experience?
Not at all! The Neighborhood Dance League welcomes dancers of all experience levels, from complete beginners to
      experienced dancers.

What if my child has accessibility or accommodation needs?
Please include any accessibility, medical, or accommodation needs during registration. Our staff will do everything we can to provide an inclusive and supportive experience.

Can parents or guardians stay during the program?
Yes. A parent or guardian is required to remain on-site throughout the program.

      What happens if it rains?
If weather affects an outdoor session, families will be notified through the parent text group as soon as possible with updates regarding postponements, cancellations, or alternate locations.

Will photos and videos be taken?
Yes. Photos and videos may be captured for educational, promotional, and documentation purposes. A media release is included as part of the registration process.

What happens if my child misses a class?
We understand that schedules and emergencies happen. While attendance is encouraged so participants get the full experience, missing a session will not remove your child from the program.

      Who teaches the classes?
Each neighborhood is led by experienced freestyle dance instructors, supported by assistant coaches and apprentices from
      Boston's street dance community.

    • PROGRAM PARTICIPATION, ATTENDANCE, AND CANCELLATION POLICY Participants are expected to attend practices, rehearsals, league activities, and performances on time and prepared. Please let staff know as soon as possible if a participant will be absent or late. Repeated unexcused absences, ongoing lateness, unsafe behavior, or failure to participate appropriately may affect placement, performance eligibility, or continued enrollment. Stack The City may adjust schedules, instructors, locations, and programming when reasonably necessary because of weather, facility closures, emergencies, low enrollment, or other circumstances beyond our control. Withdrawals, cancellations, and makeup opportunities will be handled according to the program rules communicated by staff.

    • CODE OF CONDUCT, ANTI-BULLYING, AND INCLUSION POLICY Stack The City is committed to a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. Participants and guardians must treat other participants, families, staff, instructors, volunteers, guests, venues, and property with respect. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, threats, fighting, retaliation, hazing, sexual misconduct, theft, intentional property damage, unsafe conduct, weapons, illegal drugs, alcohol, vaping, or participating while impaired are prohibited. Participants and guardians must follow instructor directions, respect personal boundaries, and use behavior appropriate for a youth and family program. Concerns should be reported to program leadership. Depending on the situation, consequences may include a warning, a restorative conversation, parent or guardian contact, removal from an activity, suspension, or dismissal.

    • EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT AUTHORIZATION
    • If a participant becomes ill, injured, or experiences an emergency, program staff will make reasonable efforts to contact the parent, guardian, adult participant, or listed emergency contacts. If immediate action appears reasonably necessary and the appropriate contact cannot be reached promptly, the signer authorizes Stack The City staff or representatives to call 911, arrange emergency transportation, communicate relevant medical information to responders, and authorize emergency evaluation or treatment recommended by licensed medical professionals. The signer understands that the participant or parent/guardian remains responsible for medical, ambulance, hospital, medication, and related costs.
    • ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
    • Dance training, freestyle dance, warmups, stretching, conditioning, rehearsals, demonstrations, battles, and performances involve physical exertion and ordinary risks, including slips, trips, falls, collisions, overexertion, dehydration, strains, sprains, bruises, fractures, aggravation of existing conditions, and other injuries. The signer understands that not every risk can be predicted or prevented and voluntarily chooses participation with knowledge of these risks. To the fullest extent permitted by Massachusetts law, the signer releases and agrees not to hold liable Stack The City, Stackz Worldwide, the Neighborhood Dance League, their officers, directors, employees, instructors, volunteers, contractors, sponsors, partners, and participating facilities for claims arising from ordinary negligence connected with participation. This waiver does not attempt to waive claims involving gross negligence, reckless conduct, intentional misconduct, or rights that cannot legally be waived. To the extent permitted by law, the signer agrees to indemnify the released parties only for losses caused by the participant’s intentional misconduct or material violation of program rules.
    • MEDIA RELEASE AND PRIVACY OPTIONS
    • Stack The City may photograph, record video or audio, livestream, interview, or otherwise document program activities. Declining media consent will not affect eligibility to participate, and staff will make reasonable efforts to honor a decline, but incidental appearance in wide crowd shots may be difficult to avoid. Publicly distributed material may also be difficult to fully remove.
