• Hampshire International Jamboree (HIJ) Initial Registration (IST)

  • HIJ will take place near Overton in Hampshire, UK and is open to young people from Scouting and Guiding aged 10 and over.

    This form is to book places to join HIJ as International Service Team (IST) and become part of our team of adult volunteers who work to plan, organise and deliver the event.

    We are looking for adult volunteers in many varied roles to make HIJ a success, and we'd love to have you join the team.

    Places are currently charged at £120, which will include all camping and food throughout the event.

    Once you've completed this form, our team will be in touch to collect deposits and discuss next steps.

    When would you be available to help with HIJ

  • Many of our roles will involve delivery during the event, but some will be more involved during the planning, site build or take-down phases. To help us allocate roles, it is useful for us to know when you're available and your anticipated commitment. We are keen to ensure volunteering is flexible and accessible to everyone, regardless of their skills, experience and time commitment.

  • In order to make HIJ a huge success, we need lots of adult volunteers in many varied roles. These could include helping us to deliver our programme of activities to young people, supporting our subcamps, keeping our event site running, helping in our retail outlets, or many more behind-the-scenes roles.

    At this stage, we're keen to understand everyone's preference for where they would like to help. We cannot guarantee which roles will be allocated, but we will ensure that we take your preferred options into account.

    By choosing multiple options for the teams that you're interested in, we will be better able to build our teams and ensure a fun event for our adult volunteers.

  • Whilst at HIJ

    How do you plan to arrive at the event and where do you plan to stay?

  • We are keen to ensure that everyone arrives at HIJ safely. To allow us to make transport plans, we're looking to understand how you plan to arrive at the event. It could be that you're arriving by car, minibus or coach directly to the event, or you could be arriving by rail or air.

    For those arriving by rail to either Winchester or Micheldever stations, we are able to offer transport to the event at no extra cost. You may of course choose to make your own transport arrangements if you're arriving at another local railway station.

    For any of our international participants arriving by air, we can arrange transport to the event from London Heathrow or Southampton airports at no extra cost. Again, you may opt to make your own way to site if you're arriving at a different airport.
