The Office of Multicultural Affairs and the UCBA World Fest Committee would like to invite you to submit a proposal for the

3rd Annual Women of the World Conference.

The WOW conference will be on Saturday, March 12th, 2016 from 8:00 am-4:00 pm at UC-Blue Ash College in Blue Ash, OH.

This year's conference theme is Empowering, Enlightening, & Excelling in Sisterhood & Service.

The WOW Conference is apart of the UCBA Sister Circle group which is a support group for women of color at UCBA. The purpose of Sister Circle is to encourage the promotion of sisterhood among students, staff and faculty at UCBA. Participants are encouraged to explore and consider leadership opportunities on campus and to become connected in their own ways. This forum promotes sisterhood, and what it means to support each other and be a sister.

Workshop Session: May be 50 minutes in length. A good session covers one topic in depth, rather than giving an overview of many topics. Roundtable Discussion: Roundtables are oral presentations that are 50 minutes in length. They include discussion with attendees seated around a table. Roundtables do not have traditional audio-visual aids, but presenters are encouraged to being handouts illustrating their work. Poster Presentation: Visual presentations focused on a particular theme that are displayed on tables and easels. Posters will be grouped based on the themes of the conference.

Proposal Review & Acceptance

A peer review will be conducted based on the following criteria:

Is the abstract informative, enticing, and succinct?
Are the learning outcomes observable, relevant, and concise?
Does the session description match the session abstract?
Is the content defined, applicable, and relevant?

Notification & Information

All submissions are due by February, 15, 2016 at 5:00 pm.

Notification of acceptance decisions will be e-mailed by on or about February 29, 2016. The Program Committee Chair will send you a ProposalSpace Message, which will also be posted to your account on Proposal Space.

Presenters must confirm that they will present at the conference by Friday, March 4, 2016. Email the Proposal Committee at BAMCA@uc.edu if you have any questions.
