On May 22, 2020 The Palm Springs City Council voted to align its short-term rental rules with those of the State.
Based upon the latest orders from the State, “hotels/lodging for leisure and tourism” are identified as “higher-risk workplaces”. Hotels/lodging for leisure and tourism are not permitted to operate in Stage 2. Riverside County is currently in the further stages of Stage 2.
Under the current statewide Stay-at-Home order, hotels and lodging should only open for COVID-19:
Mitigation and containment measures
Providing accommodation for essential workers performing essential work
Providing housing solutions, including measures to protect homeless populations.
The protection for lodging for victims of domestic violence
Progressing through the re-opening stages is not based on time; rather, benchmarks. It is very difficult to determine when we will reach a Stage where hotels/lodging for leisure and tourism are permitted.
Any and all bookings for short term lodging for any date following the date of the May 22, 2020 Resolution, other than those for COVID-19 mitigation and containment measures, are made at the owner/operator’s risk and shall be cancelled by such owner/operator, to the extent the State’s emergency order continues to prohibit such rental at the time the property is to be occupied.
If the stay is identified under the States COVID-19 exception, you must upload verification documents supporting such stay to this Contract Summary.
All requests must include verification documents fully supporting such request
