Thank you for your interest in joining the Seen Through Horses 2025 Campaign, produced by Horses for Mental Health, as a Charity Partner!

While Charity Partners are required to be nonprofit organizations, U.S.-based for-profit organizations can still participate by partnering with a fiscal sponsor.

A fiscal sponsor is a nonprofit organization that provides financial and administrative support to organizations or projects without their own tax-exempt status. This partnership allows your program to receive tax-deductible donations and grants, making it easier to focus on your impactful work without navigating the complexities of obtaining 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

Horses for Mental Health (HMH) is proud to offer fiscal sponsorship for programs and projects aligned with our mission to expand awareness, funding, resources, and services that improve mental health and well-being through equine-assisted programs. In this relationship, HMH ensures that funds are used for charitable purposes in compliance with legal and regulatory standards. To manage these responsibilities, HMH retains 6% of raised funds for administrative costs and seeks partnerships with established, credible programs that share our values.

The Seen Through Horses Campaign is a peer-to-peer awareness and fundraising initiative. Peer-to-peer fundraising empowers your organization to build a team of Fundraising Ambassadors who will connect with their networks to raise awareness and funds for your program.

While HMH provides you with the tools, resources, and infrastructure to support your fundraising efforts, your organization takes the lead in mobilizing your community. We are here to support you every step of the way and help you succeed in this meaningful endeavor.

1. Your organization is a registered entity in the United States.2. Your organization provides services that support HMH's mission of improving the mental health and well-being of individuals, families, and groups through programs incorporating horses.3. Your organization has been in existence at least two years and actively sees clients.4. Your organization maintains liability insurance.5. Your organization has credentialed facilitators trained and certified to provide mental health or personal growth services incorporating horses and who operate in their scopes of practice.6. Your organization has a website.7. Since this is a social media and community engagement campaign, your organization needs to have some level of activity already in place on social media channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.8. The campaign requires you to identify at least 5 individuals who will advocate and reach out to raise money through their networks of family/friends/colleagues for your organization as your fundraising team. Only continue with this application if you can successfully engage this level of support for your organization.9. The campaign requires that you and your fundraising team utilize the campaign calendar to do social media posts, emails, or other awareness and fundraising activities to help you be successful in the campaign, with a delegated Team Lead who commits to a minimum of 5 hours/week from March - April, and 8 hours/week during May to support the Campaign activations.10. With the additional responsibilities HMH takes on as a fiscal sponsor, there is a 6% administrative fee HMH retains of funds your organization raises.11. Donations need to go to Horses for Mental Health, and can be earmarked for your program, for donors to receive a tax-deductible receipt. Your program will then need to send HMH an invoice indicating services provided according to the fiscal sponsorship and project agreement, to receive those funds.12. Pay a non-refundable $200 commitment fee + $50 new Charity Partner initiation fee ($250) and submit your organization's W-9 by March 4th, 2025.13. Your organization completes a post-campaign feedback survey by the end of June to provide essential data on the impact of your participation. This information helps track the effectiveness of the campaign, demonstrates the reach and outcomes, and provides insights that improve future campaigns.

Once submitted, HMH will review your application and notify you if fiscal sponsorship is approved. At that point, you’ll be able to fill out the Seen Through Horses Campaign 2025 Charity Partner application, which is due by February 11th, 2025.
