Overview
The Ohio Council of Community Schools (OCCS) is proud to offer scholarships to high school seniors who aspire to continue their education after high school. Scholarships may be awarded for any 4-year college or university (University of Toledo, etc.), 2-year college (Owens Community College, etc.), or trade college leading to a certification (Hamrick Truck Driving School, etc.). If awarded, this scholarship will be available for renewal upon completing a Renewal Application in future years.
Application Requirements
REQUIRED: Completed application responses, high school transcript, and essay.
The following optional documents may help your chances of receiving a scholarship award, but do not guarantee a scholarship award.
- ACT or SAT results
- "Student Aid Report" from the 2024-2025 FAFSA
- Recommendation Letter from a teacher, counselor, community member, or faculty member (cannot be a relative)
- Resume
Awards
Scholarship awards range between $500-$2,500. The funds will be applied to the 2025-2026 school year (divided between the fall 2025 semester and spring 2026 semester).
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for an OCCS Scholarship you must:
- Be a current high school senior who attended an OCCS-sponsored school for any part of their K-12 schooling.
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
