Oral Chemotherapy Orders

Please ensure you upload or email the script(s) for the requested medication(s) to info@thepetoncologist.com

If you are using an approved electronic prescription management system (e.g. RX Works or EzyVet), a physical copy of the prescription is not required. However, if you are using a non-approved electronic system or would like to use our prescription form, please ensure the prescription is printed, signed with your handwritten signature, and sent within 7 days after sending a digital copy. We will provide you with a prepaid return envelope with your order to ensure the timely return of the physical prescription.

For orders intended for hospital usage without a specific patient, please label the instructions with "FOR EMERGENCY HOSPITAL USAGE" and provide a script accordingly.

Oral Chemotherapy Drugs:

All our oral chemotherapy drugs will be dispensed with the following:

• Oral chemotherapy drug(s) – labelled by strength in pill bottle(s), with dispensed date, batch expiry date and patient name.
• ‘Cytotoxic’ and ‘Swallow Whole – Do Not Crush or Chew’ Stickers | 40 x 11 mm
• 1 x pair of disposable nitrile chemotherapy gloves (S, M, L)​.
  • If you do not specify your glove size, you will receive a pair of medium gloves by default.
• 1 x disposable plastic-backed absorbent pad – to put oral chemotherapy & all other items on top.
• 1 x large cytotoxic purple waste bag – all cytotoxic consumables such as the chemotherapy gloves, cytotoxic pill bottles and absorbent pads (except sharps) can go into this bag.
• 1 x cytotoxic transport bag – to transport dispensed oral chemotherapy drug(s)
  10 x swabs – to dry the patient’s mouth after giving oral chemotherapy.
• 1 x 5 mL syringe of water – water chaser to ensure oral chemotherapy goes down the throat & is not spat out.
