    The 4th Annual Buskers Fest is a celebration of our diverse creative community. We want people to experience the arts in the new and exciting way. 

    All visual artists, musicians, dancers, bands, jugglers, magicians, and all kinds of performers are welcome to participate in a First Friday Art Crawl like no other! ("Buskers")

    It is FREE to participate! We encourage audiences to tip and support the arts! We will also provide perks for artists with raffle tickets, and gifts from our sponsors. 

    NEW THIS YEAR! BOONETOBER FEST - We are adding a second day to the festivities -  Buskers Fest Friday Night + Oktoberfest Saturday! This is optional and will require a fee to participate. 

    REMINDERS: 

    • Due to new Town of Boone rules regarding vending, ALL Artists MUST be registered with us in order to participate in Buskers Fest.
    • All participants who register before September 5th, will be garunteed to receive a special sign with info about you. (afte that, only as we are able)
    • Remember to submit an image of your Venmo QR code for tips (no links). Artists who register after may not get a sign. 
    • All Participants who register before September 5th, will be added to HighCountryArts.org art directory if you haven't already. 
    • Artists will be entered to win a raffle prize and a 50/50 cash raffle as a way to thank them for participating. Other goodies will be provided as well.

  • Boonetober Fest

    We are collaborating with some downtown businesses for Boonetoberfest. Buskers Fest would still be on Friday, but Saturday will be Boonetoberfest, an additional day for artist exposure and to make $. On Saturday, we encourage artists and performers to wear Oktoberfest themed clothes or if able offer an Oktoberfest themed performance, or art to sell. Please indicate if you would like to participate. Groups as well as individuals may particiapte on Saturday.

    • BUSKERS FEST 
      DETAILS... 

    • All Artists and Preformers will be allowed to participate for FREE. 
    • Vending spaces are on the sidewalk and in select parking lots. Leave a 4ft clearance of sidewalk between the road and your set up. 
    • Give comfortable space between you and your neighboring vendors.
    • If you are placed somewhere you MAY NOT move places unless we give you prior permission that you can move about. If you move from your designated place, you will be prevented from participating in future events. 
    • Each vendor is responsible for bringing their own tables, fixtures, dressings, and money management systems.
    • PLEASE BRING LIGHTS so people can see your work when it gets dark. (NO electric! solar, or battery powered only)
    • No tents - You may bring a tarp or table cloth to cover your work in case of rain.
    • Artists are responsible for managing their own payment systems. We suggest bringing cash to make change for people, if needed.
    • Wi-Fi is not available. 
    • Vendors are prohibited from selling items or food products not previously approved by our vendor committee in your initial application.
    • You must arrive for setup within the window of time provided. We cannot guarantee access to your designated space if you are late.
    • Break down is between 8 pm - 9ish. If people are still out exploring you may stay at your own risk. Early breakdown on Friday is prohibited unless there is bad weather. When breaking down, please respect the remaining festival guests, vendors, and staff. 
    • Information about vendor placement will be provided after registration deadline is complete. 
    • Vendors are responsible for the cleanup and removal of their trash.
    • “No Shows” may not be disqualified from vending at future festivals.
    • Festival Cancellation Policy: Buskers Fest reserves the right to cancel the festival if conditions may endanger our patrons’ and volunteers’ safety and welfare. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, the decision will be made as soon as possible, and every effort will be made to notify those involved.
    • Each vendor is responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax. A copy of your NC Department of Revenue registration certificate must be displayed in the sales booth. If any exemption is applicable, written Department of Revenue certification is required.

    Waiver 

    • I hereby assume all of the risks of participating in any/all activities being conducted at Buskers Fest in Downtown Boone, including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault.
    • I attest that I am physically fit, have sufficiently prepared or trained for participation in this activity, and have not been advised not to participate by a qualified medical professional.
    • I certify that no health-related reasons or problems preclude my participation in this activity.
    • I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form will be used by the event holders, sponsors, and organizers of the activity where I may participate and will govern my actions and responsibilities at said activity.
    • In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in this activity, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows:
      (1) I waive, release, and discharge from any liability, including but not limited to liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me, including my
    • If you have been permitted to have a tent, tents must be fire retardant. This should be stated on the tent/canopy or you should have papers from the box/bag certifying that it is fire retardant. It is recommended to bring a fire extinguisher for your tent.

    • traveling to and from this activity, the following entities or persons:
      Town of Boone 
      Buskers Fest
      Watauga Arts Council
      Downtown Boone Development Association 
      and/or their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, and the activity holders, sponsors, and volunteers;
      (2) I indemnify, hold harmless, and promise not to sue the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity, whether caused by the negligence of release or otherwise.
    • I acknowledge that the aforementioned entities and their directors, officers, volunteers, representatives, and agents are not responsible for errors, omissions, acts, or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific activity on their behalf.
    • I acknowledge that this activity may involve a test of a person's physical and mental limits and carries the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss. The risks include but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, lack of hydration, and actions of other people, including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, monitors, and/or producers of the activity. These risks are not only inherent to participants but are also present in volunteers.
    • I understand while participating in this activity, I may be photographed. I agree to allow my photo, video, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the activity holders, producers, sponsors, organizers and assigns.
      The Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law.

    Failure to abide by this contract will result in disqualification in vending in the future.
