REQUEST for LEAVE of ABSENCE POLICY
A student who is completing satisfactory work may request approval for leave of absence for 2 weeks to 30 days at a time, due to extenuating circumstances. Absence from the program means the student would not be able to log in during that time period. Logging in and completing activities during the leave of absence will revoke the approved leave of absence. The program will be on hold for that period of time. It is the student's responsibility to request for access upon their return. It may take at least 24 hours to reset the account for access so plan ahead.
If the student does not return to the program after the requested LOA and it is 2 weeks past their End Date and/or past their LOA End Date, they will pay the Reinstatement Fee if they wish to continue in the program.
Request for LOA is limited to three separate periods during the program plan but not for more than a total of 3 months.
After 3 months or three instances of approved absence, the student needs to request Reinstatement and pay the current Reinstatement Fee at the time of reinstatement.
The program must be completed within a 6-month period, therefore the student should return and complete the program within 6 months of the program plan. After 6 months and the program is not completed, we may require retaking the exams, or resubmitting assignments, etc or whatever is deemed appropriate to ensure that the student is able to demonstrate satisfactory understanding of the concepts that they have completed previously. This may require additional fees or may require re-enrollment in the program based on the student's performance.
