  • BOOKING PROCESS

  • Disclaimer:

Please understand that freehand projects require a lot of time and energy, especially if you're looking to get a full-colour piece. It's a process that involves plenty of patience, day-of collaboration and communication. Therefore, please be aware that these projects are priced out as either my day rate (for larger pieces) and by-hour (for medium pieces). With this in mind, I strongly advise you to give us plenty of time to execute your tattoo and to consider your schedule before booking with me. It is understood that this type of project gives me, the artist, full trust and creative freedom in my abilities to execute the tattoo to your fullest satisfaction.

    1. Booking freehand requests are done via my newsletter. On the 1st-15th of every other month, I send out multiple newsletters on when I'm planning to book for a certain period.
      1. Books typically open on the 2nd or 3rd Satruday of the month
    2. Fill out the form with all the appropriate information for me to know in advance in preparation for our session, and select whether you want it in monochrome (state what colour) or full-colour.
    3. You can use any references to elements you love from my work.
    4. Make sure to read all the disclaimers and information on the form.
    5. Click 'submit'.
    6. When we've received your request, I will review what you've submitted. If I feel the project suits my work, you will receive a follow-up email proceeding you to the next step to complete your booking.
      1. Please be aware that freehand projects are suited for those who are flexible and trusting of the process. I know some may need to see the design beforehand, but rest assured that before I even begin tattooing, I always always (always) ask for consent and approval on the design.
    7. If the project doesn't work for me, you will be notified. **Please look out for any emails from bookings.fks@gmail.com**
      1. If you don't see our newsletters or responses from the email above, please check your spam folders
    8. Upon receiving your submission, I have the agency to accept OR reject your project if it doesn't fit my style or approach to my practice. Please understand that, it's not personal. I only want to accept projects I feel passionate about or feel I can execute it to the best of my abilities. Projects that don't fit my work, I rather not be forced into accepting it and do a terrible job, than be honest about my boundaries.
    9. Next, if your project is accepted, you will receive a follow-up email from my assistant prompting you to the next steps to completing your booking.
      1. Without both deposit and calendar slot, you are not officially booked in.
    10. When we've received those two final things, you are considered on the books. We will send an email confirming your completed booking.
    11. A few days prior to your appointment you will receive a reminder email with the studio's address and directions, additional important information and documents to fill out for me to review.
  • FREEHAND EXPERIENCE

  • Day-of process:

    1. When you arrive to your appointment, we will begin first by sitting down together and going through what you've submitted. This part will be me getting to know more about what you want in the tattoo; including concepts and putting intention into the piece for some inspiration.
    2. As part of my process, I usually have clients look over an 'element' sheet which contains forms, shapes and textures I usually include in my work. Clients will be given the time to look over the sheet and circle elements they want to include in the design.
    3. If you've chosen monochrome, I will confirm what colour ink you want. If you've chosem full-colour, we will go through together on the colour scheme once the design has been finalised.
    4. Once everything is good to go, I will begin drawing on you. I start off with a a basic outline. This helps indicate the size and flow of the piece. This part is just as crucial because it will be tricky to try and shift placements once I've drawn the design on. So tell me how it feels size-wise and flow.
    5. After this, I go in with a skin marker and bring together as much of the elements you selected earlier.
    6. Bear in mind, this process may take some time as I really want to execute this well, considering the flow and balance of everything whilst bearing in mind everything we talked about.
    7. When I've completed this stage, you will take a look at it and you can make changes to it as you see fit.
    8. But if there's no other notes or remarks, you will need to consent you're happy with the piece.
    9. Next, if you've chosen full-colour, we will go over inks together.
    10. Once you're happy, we can take a small break while I set up my station and have something to eat.
    11. Finally, the tattoo shall begin!
