P.ink Angel Fund Application Logo
  • P.ink Angel Fund Application

  • We are now accepting applications for the P.ink Angel Fund, where Personal Ink/FCancer will sponsor individual decorative tattoos for breast cancer survivors including lumpectomy scars, port scars, and male mastecomy scars.

If you are looking to apply for a female mastectomy tattoo you will need to wait for our P.ink Days applications to open. Follow us on social media and sign up for our newletter to be alerted when those applications open!

Our goal is to sponsor these tattoos in locations across the country.

In order to submit an application, you must meet our qualification criteria, and there must be a qualified and available P.ink artist within a reasonable distance of your location. Please check our Artist Directory before filling out this form as it's required to identify an artist in order to submit your application.

To search our directory, click this link, enter the distance you're able to travel, and in the Category drop down, select P.ink Angel Artist.

We will reach out to your selected artist to ensure that they are available within 3 months to schedule a tattoo session and that they can execute a tattoo in a style that you are interested in.

If you are unable to identify an artist, you are welcome to apply again in the future. We are always adding new artists to our directory.

Alternately, if you know of an artist who does this kind of work and who is not currently in our directory, feel free to invite them to apply to join - it's free and fast. Simply share this link with them.

  • Qualification Questions

In order for our artists to do their best work, and for recipients to have the most positive experience, we ask that certain criteria are met. Please review all of the statements below and answer to the absolute best of your ability. If you have to disagree with any of them, we encourage you to try again another time, when and if your circumstances change. Thank you so much for your interest in Personal Ink. We are so grateful for you and your time!
  • You and Your Tattoo Ideas

  • Thank you so much for your interest the P.ink Angel Fund.

We are so sorry, but we are unable to accept your application at this time based on one or more of your responses.

Please see the list below for the criteria that need to be met in order to submit an application.

Should your situation change in the future we hope you will consider applying again.

    Wishing you all the best,

    The P.ink Team

    Qualification Criteria

    1. I have lumpectomy or port scars from breast cancer treatment, or have male mastectomy scars. I am seeking a decorative tattoo to cover my scars and I do not have the resources to obtain one on my own.

    2. I understand that P.ink does not provide nipple/areola tattoo(s) as part of the P.ink Angel Fund.

    3. I am at least two years out from my last surgery and have no pending surgeries. Note that some scars can take longer to heal and it will be up to the tattoo artist to determine whether they can achieve a good outcome for you or whether it would be better for you to wait.

    4. I agree that I will receive a tattoo that can be completed in a maximum of 5-6 hours. A good frame of reference is a medium open-hand sized tattoo. If I want more than that, it's my responsibility to make those arrangements ahead of time with my artist, including offering to pay for additional sessions, and to inform my P.ink Representative of those arrangements. I also understand that my artist may not be available to schedule any additional appointments immediately.

    5. I understand that I will see my draft tattoo design the day of my tattoo appointment and the opportunity for adjustments will be available at that time. This is a standard practice in the tattoo industry. Prior to your appointment, there will be a phone/video or in-person consultation with your artist to discuss your design ideas. Your artist is the expert and will have the final say on design composition and placement as they understand what will work best with your body and scars.

    6. I understand that a P.ink Representative will be my main point of contact and will facilitate communication and scheduling between me and my artist. I will not reach out directly to my artist until I'm officially connected to them by a P.ink Representative.

    7. I understand that P.ink will contact my preferred artist to confirm their interest, availability, and ability to execute on my style preferences. There may be times when an artist may not be able to participate in this program, for reasons including, but not limited to, changed location, inability to schedule within 3 months, and inability to execute the desired style of tattoo.

    8. I agree that I will not contact any P.ink artists independently regarding my application or for any other reason related to this program.

    9. I understand that my tattoo session may not be private and may occur while other clients and/or artists are in the shop.

    10. I understand that I may not be able to bring additional guests to my tattoo session depending on the shop's guest guidelines.

    11. I agree that photos will be taken of my tattoo by the artist for verification purposes for their reimbursement. These photos may also be used by Fuck Cancer and/or Personal Ink for marketing purposes. If I prefer that my face not be visible publicly, I must advise my P.ink Representative in writing prior to my session.

    12. I agree to be interviewed by P.ink after my session and understand that quotes from that interview and images of my tattoo may be used for promotional purposes.

  • Tattoo Styles

Tattoo styles are the different techniques and designs used in tattooing.

When choosing a tattoo design, this is the primary consideration. It's important to be familiar with the variety of styles available, and it helps to be open to different styles, as not all artists are skilled in all styles. In the section below, we'll ask you to indicate which styles you are interested in getting.

Qualified applicants are matched with P.ink artists based on the how well the styles that applicants are open to align with the skill sets of the artists. So the more styles you are open to, the better chance of being matched with an artist.

A few things to keep in mind:

    • Not all artists accommodate all styles, particularly more specialty styles like watercolor or abstract.
    • Not all artists work in color.
    • Depending on the nature of your scarring, not all tattoo styles may be recommended.
      • For example: Heavy scarring and/or radiation burns may not lend themselves to fineline work. If you select this style, your artist may recommend adjustments based on your body to achieve a good result (i.e. varying the line weight or adding shading/color to areas with texture).

    Tattoo Style Definitions:

    • BOLD / TRADITIONAL / NEO-TRADITIONAL - bolder designs featuring black outlines with varied line weights and levels of shading
    • FINE LINE - very thin, delicate lines to create designs with minimal shading
    • MINIMAL / DECORATIVE - small details that accentuate or frame, rather than hide, the canvas
    • WATERCOLOR - bright colors and abstract designs mimicking the appearance of a watercolor painting
    • ORNAMENTAL / GEOMETRIC - intricate, often symmetrical patterns like mandalas, dotwork, and geometry
    • ABSTRACT - free form, fluid style shapes, patterns, or lines

In the section below, please select as many styles as you like. Remember, the more styles you are willing to consider, the better chance you have being matched with an artist. Click on each image to highlight/select. Click again to deselect.
