  • ABOUT THE CONTEST

    Ultimately, we are looking to create a brand for our campus hotel that represents the unique experience that we offer, as well as aligns with the UofL’s “Shine” campaign and our motto; Fiat Lux. We will accept any entry in the form of a hotel name suggestion, rough logo design, marketing concept, etc. The possibilities are endless! If we like your idea, not only will it be used in our re-branding strategy, but a $300 Best Buy gift card will also be awarded! This is an opportunity for you to earn some serious bragging rights as well as encapsulate the campus experience as you know it, capitalizing on elements unique to the UofL such as our close-knit, vibrant community and what it is that really makes our campus “shine”.

  • ABOUT OUR HOTEL

    Mount Blakiston House is named after the highest peak in Waterton Lakes National Park, located just south-west of Lethbridge. As the only hotel located on Lethbridge’s west side, we are able to provide convenient access to the University, downtown core, and more. Views of campus and the beautiful coulee valleys are hallmarks of our suites. Our building opened in the Fall of 2013 and is able to accommodate just over 300 guests at a time. Our clientele generally consist of University conference attendees, sports teams, alumni, wedding parties, etc. 

    We offer one, two, and four bedroom suites throughout the summer months of May-August. As well, we offer four one-bedroom suites that are available year-round. All suites contain an oven, stove, fridge and microwave with kitchen utensils, as well as a living room with a flat-screen LCD TV. A double bed with clean, comfortable linens is provided in each bedroom.

    CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS

    Candidates must satisfy each of the following eligibility requirements to enter:

    REQUIREMENTS:

     - Only one submission per entrant will be accepted.

    - All submissions must be the original work of the entrant.

     - Submissions may be in the form of a name, rough logo idea, marketing concept, etc.

     - Should more than one individual be involved in the production of the submission, only the individual who submits the entry will be considered a candidate.

     - Entrants must be a student at the University of Lethbridge, or a resident of Alberta.

    SUBMISSIONS:

     - All entries will be submitted through the web submission form at https://form.jotform.com/uoflconf/logocontest

     - Submissions are due on Monday, February 29th 2016 at noon.

    NOTIFICATION:

     - A winner will be notified via e-mail on Tuesday, March 4th 2016.

     - Winner’s name will be posted on our website, as well as on social media platforms.

     - While all entrants are thanked for their participation, only the contest winner will be contacted.

    DISCLAIMER:

     - Upon receipt, all submissions become property of Conference & Event Services at the University of Lethbridge.

     - Conference & Event Services reserves the right to choose no submission, and extend the contest deadline should no submission be chosen.

    - If a concept is chosen, it will be forwarded to the Advancement and Communications departments and tailored to align with the University of Lethbridge’s strategic marketing plan.

     - No purchase is necessary to enter this contest.
