SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATIONS*- A separate application or essay is required for the following art and youth sport scholarships. These groups only receive the information requested on their applicaiton, no other information is sent. Certian prerequisites may be necessary for eligibility. Application deadlines may vary.

The Darien Arts Center Ginny Wright Scholarship

The DAC awards a scholarship to a senior who will continue their study of the visual arts or design in college. It is not necessary that the student be declaring art as a major at this point, as long as he or she plans to take art courses. The award is given in memory of Virginia Wright, a talented artist, dedicated volunteer and generous benefactor.

Darien Little League Scholarship

Awarded to DLL players who continued involvement with DLL or baseball/softball. Applications are due by March 22, 2025.

Darien Junior Football League Colman Mix Scholarship

Awarded to eligible DHS seniors who have demonstrated leadership, commitment and sportsmanship to the sport of football in the community of Darien (certain prerequisites are required). DJFL Scholarship application is due by April 7, 2025.

Martin Pryor Scholarship Award

Awarded to a graduating football player who has exemplified what it is to be a great teammate, a coachable player and a good citizen. Award winners have shown selfless dedication to their team and have represented themselves, their families and the program in a positive and productive manner on and off the field. In Memory of Martin Pryor who selflessly volunteered and supported the Darien Youth and High School Football Programs for over 20 years. The application is due by March 22, 2025.

Darien Youth Hockey Association
Henry L. Farmer, V Scholarship Award & Biggs Scholarship Award

These awards are given to Seniors who have played within the Darien Youth Hockey or CT Ice Cat organizations in recognition of their contributions to the program and the sport of ice hockey. Applications are due by March 21, 2025.

Theatre 308 Scholarship

The application can be found on the Theatre 308 Google Classroom. Scholarships are awarded to two DHS seniors deeply involved in Theatre 308. (one performance aspect and one technical aspect). Please submit the completed information form to Mr. Sorensen no later than March 22, 2025.

Financial information will be sent only to organizations which require it. A small number of the scholarships are based on merit and financial need is not a consideration. Note: The Darien Community Association grants many community scholarships each year to DHS seniors. Some scholarships are renewable. Scholarships are funded by a wide range of DCA programs. To receive full consideration for the DCA scholarships, applicants must request financial aid from the college/university they plan to attend.
