Regional Pulpit Supply Process
First, complete and submit the Application for Regional Pulpit Supply List (click on the document name to take you to the correct link). Then, review and agree to the COM 16 Policy (click on the document name to take you to the correct link).
If you currently have Standing as a Minister with the Mid-America Region, please ensure that you have had a background check in the last three years. If not, please log into the Disciples Home Missions (DHM) Office of Search & Call to request an updated background check. If you do not currently have Standing with the Mid-America Region, please initiate a background check request directly through Oxford, using the instructions below.
Obtaining a Background Check through Oxford
1. Visit https://www.oxforddoc.com/
2. Click on “Candidate Registration” tab in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
3. On the “Welcome Candidate” page – enter the following information:
· The Client Number: 3456
· Position Code: Select option 1
4. Client Verification should be Christian Church of Mid-America; and if so, click, "Yes."
5. Proceed by filling out your information on the Authorization page.
6. Enter your credit card/debit card number and pay the $175 fee* for the background check.
*Please Note: For assistance with this fee, you can apply for the Leadership Development Grant (click on the link to apply). You will be asked to provide your receipt of payment with this Application.
Once your background check has been completed by Oxford, a Confidential Report will be sent to the Mid-America Regional Office, and the Report will be added to your clergy file. Your Ministry Associate will send an email confirmation to inform you that that this document has been received.
Upon receival and approval of your completed Application for Pulpit Supply, signed Pulpit Supply Policy, and Background Check, the Mid-America Region will add your name and information to our Pulpit Supply List. A confirmation email will be sent to you along with an updated copy of the CCMA Pulpit Supply List with you included.
The Mid-America Region provides the Pulpit Supply Ministers List upon request. Requests for this List are accomodated by emailing this office at sgf@ccmadisciples.org. Please note that this List changes frequently, so we welcome you to reach out anytime for an updated copy. You can also complete an new Application for Pulpit Supply at anytime should you need to update your information.
