    Recommended once within your first 6 months of ebike ownership at between 300 and 500 miles.

    • Scooter Style Bikes – Bikes with a bench seat and no visible seatpost.
    • Burning Man Bikes – Bikes that have been used at Burning Man and were not originally bought from The New Wheel.
    • Out of Class Electric Bikes – Electric bikes that lack a clear Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 designation on the frame.

  • Online Bike Assembly and Tune

    Expert assembly and tune of your bike that was purchased online. 

    Our workshop is equipped to work on the mechanics of all electric bicycles using standard bicycle components, and can work on the electronic systems of Bosch, Shimano, Stromer and Specialized.

    Time

    Service work typically takes 5-7 days to complete but can often be quicker.

    Price

    Our bike assembly and tune service is $395. A $5 supply fee applies.

    Ebike Troubleshooting

    Our trained and certified service technicians are able to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair problems on electric systems from Bosch, Shimano, Stromer and Specialized.

    Price

    Troubleshooting is $185 which includes one hour and ten minutes of diagnostic time. Additional time required is billed based on time + materials at an hourly rate of $165.

    While we can work on the mechanical systems of most bikes, we only have training and spare parts for electronic systems from Bosch, Specialized and Stromer.  

    Here are our recommendations for service on this system:

    • Reach out to your original retailer for service

    • Reach out to the manufacturer to identify local service options

    If you are unable to get help from your retailer or the manufacturer...

    • Reach out to us at service@newwheel.net and we can try to find another solution. 

     

  • We May Be Able To Service This System

    • Ebike troubleshooting is $185 to ascertain what is going on.

    • Once we figure out what's causing the issue, there may be additional cost to complete the repair if a repair is possible.

    • If your bike is under warranty we can submit for warranty reimbursement on your behalf if we are a dealer of your brand. Please bring your original sales receipt. Please note: There is a $65 warranty processing fee for each warranty submission. 

    • At the inspection, we will also check assembly of key safety components of your bike. If it is determined that assembly quality is poor, the minimum service is $395 for a "Bike Assembly or Re-Assembly & Tune Service".

  • Emergency Roadside Pick Up

    If you have a Service Plan, you may use your emergency roadside pick up benefit - your bike can be picked up and delivered to us. Your plan includes up to two pickups per year with delivery up to 30 miles. To initiate a roadside pick up call 415-524-7362 and follow the prompts.

  • San Francisco Drop Off: All service is now being done at our Service Center, a 5-minute ride from the Bernal shop. You can drop-off at the Bernal shop if needed, but service turnaround time will be extended.
