  • Ways to Get Involved with MAP!

  • Throughout the year there are different projects where you, your family, or organization can work together to make an impact at Mothers Advocacy Project.  Explore the opportunities below to see how you can make a difference.  Our impactful work is only made possible with support from generous, kind people (and groups) like you!

    • Meals and Baking Services – get a group of friends or colleagues together to prepare a meal or bake some fun food for our families. Click link for more information. 
    • Food specifically for MAP:Kids (children of the moms we serve) Click link for more information. 
    • Family Care Kits / Supply Drives  – host a supply drive for MAP’s needed supplies or donate from our Amazon Wishlist.  Click link for more information. 
    • Donation Sorting / Recording - come to the office and sort-through / make a list of donated items. (Fill in the form below and select Donation Sorting / Recording.) 
    • Childcare - come help take care of the children while their mothers receive MAP services (background check required). Childcare is provided at our office Mon. - Fri. between 9 am - 3:30 pm or at our partner location on Mondays evenings from 5:30-7:30 pm.  Volunteers will have a MAP staff with them at the time of volunteering and should never be alone with a child or group of children. Trauma awareness training is required. In this role, all volunteers should be respectful and kind in their relationship to the children and clients.  Sign-up through this form and select Childcare or reach out to Kelsy.
    • Office Cleaning - we always need help deep cleaning the office!  (Fill in the form below and select Office Cleaning.) 
    • Serve as a MAP Board Member - we are always interested in having talented, connected, and fundraising savvy people on our board of directors.  Let us know if you're interested and we'll see if we are a good fit for each other. (Fill in the form below and select Board Member.)
    • Employment Counseling - Fill in the form below and select Employment Counseling.
    • Career (or other Skills) Workshop for Moms - Fill in the form below and select Career Workshop.

  • Volunteer Qualifications

  • Although volunteers are unpaid, you are participating in the organization as a reliable, trustworthy, and contributing member of the team. We rely on a volunteer’s commitment to our programs, punctuality, and exemplary conduct to be successful.

    It is the policy of Mothers Advocacy Project that each volunteer satisfy the volunteer eligibility requirements listed below, if working on-site and with clients or children:

    • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age if volunteering individually, or be at least twelve (12) years of age if accompanied by an adult.
    • Execute the Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability.
    • Execute the Confidentiality Agreement.
    • Complete and pass a background check.
    • Attend a trauma training (1 hour) (Childcare or Board Member).
    • Communicate regularly with the staff supervisor.
    • Have access to an automobile or reliable transportation.
    • Comply with all other Volunteer Program policies.

    Volunteer Screening Process: The decision to accept an applicant into the Volunteer Program will be based upon a final assessment done by staff at the completion of the screening.  MAP will maintain documentation of the screening process for each applicant, whether accepted or denied.
