Although volunteers are unpaid, you are participating in the organization as a reliable, trustworthy, and contributing member of the team. We rely on a volunteer’s commitment to our programs, punctuality, and exemplary conduct to be successful.
It is the policy of Mothers Advocacy Project that each volunteer satisfy the volunteer eligibility requirements listed below, if working on-site and with clients or children:
• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age if volunteering individually, or be at least twelve (12) years of age if accompanied by an adult.
• Execute the Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability.
• Execute the Confidentiality Agreement.
• Complete and pass a background check.
• Attend a trauma training (1 hour) (Childcare or Board Member).
• Communicate regularly with the staff supervisor.
• Have access to an automobile or reliable transportation.
• Comply with all other Volunteer Program policies.
Volunteer Screening Process: The decision to accept an applicant into the Volunteer Program will be based upon a final assessment done by staff at the completion of the screening. MAP will maintain documentation of the screening process for each applicant, whether accepted or denied.
