  • Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Depot

    We ask that you complete this short form and come to an 'Info Session' at The Depot, where you will learn more about what we do and what kinds of jobs our volunteers do.

    The first section of this form has some information about The Depot, and how our volunteer program works.  Please read this carefully.  We hope that you like what you see, but you may find that because of schedules or other requirements, we're not the organization for you.  If so, we encourage you to consider another group to volunteer with - the world could use all the help we can offer!

  • Some details about The Depot

  • The Depot has volunteer jobs across virtually all our programs - from working in our kitchen to helping kids with after-school workshops, from working on computers to welcoming people into the space. There's room for just about everyone! During the Info Session, we will go over the details of each volunteer role, and you'll be able to indicate which ones interest you the most.

    The Depot hours are between Monday and Friday, from around 9am to 7pm.  Only very rarely do we have volunteer shifts outside these hours (which means we have NO regular weekend shifts).

    Volunteer shifts are typically 3 hours long.  Morning shifts are from approximately 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, afternoon shifts from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, and evening shifts from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM (Tuesdays are a bit later, and end at 7:30PM).  These times may vary depending on the volunteer job, and we'll give you more details during the Info Session.

  • Unfortunately, if you are not available during the week (Monday-Friday), we are unlikely to be able to place you as a volunteer.

    We want to thank you for your interesting in helping The Depot, and the community at large.  Please don't stop your volunteering journey just because of this!  We encourage you to consider another group (click here for some ideas) to volunteer with - the world could use all the help we can offer!

  • You've indicated that these hours are needed to fulfil the requirements for a program such as Paas-Action, Équijustice, or YMCA (Compensatory Work Program), among others.

  • We ask that everyone interested in volunteering for The Depot attend an Information Session BEFORE they begin volunteering, to learn more about what we do, how we do it, and how volunteers work in our team.

  • If you are unable to make any of the Volunteer Info sessions listed above, you will be placed on an email list and we will let you know when new info sessions are scheduled.

    This email will also contain a link to cancel your registration if you find you cannot make it - please use this if you need to, as we sometimes run out of room in the Info Sessions and would love to offer your spot to someone else if you can't make it.
