    TXSNOW Instructor Q&A

    • 1. Waiver
    • 1.1 Participant Q: “Do I have to sign a waiver to take a lesson?”

      A:

      Yes.
Under our insurer’s latest Canada-wide requirements starting in 2024, every lesson must be covered by a signed TXSNOW Waiver before purchase completed.
In other words: no signed Waiver = no payment = no Lesson.
You can refer participants to the TXSNOW Waiver link when needed.

      19+ Waiver

       Under 19 Waiver

    • 1.2 Participant Q: “I’m taking a lesson with my child. Can we just sign one Waiver for both of us?”

      A:

Each participant must have their own Waiver signed on file, valid for the entire season.
For anyone under 19, the “Under19 Waiver” must be signed by a parent or legal guardian on their behalf.

    • 2. Platform Rules
    • 2.1 Q: What kind of platform is TXSNOW? As an instructor, why should I join?

A: TXSNOW is a digital teaching operating system that helps you turn your winter expertise into income.

As an OSRA(Ontario Snow Resorts Association) Associate Member and a partner of CASI, CSIA and PSIC, TXSNOW provides instructors with up-to-date information and insights from within the Canadian snow-sports industry.

TXSNOW builds the rules, systems and safety framework for you — from CGL insurance, agreements, pricing, booking channels and process standards to policies, CRM and a points system. Together, they form a ready-made “software toolbox” so instructors who want to earn income in winter can use this toolkit to build up their own student base, sell lessons, deliver great experiences, and grow both their reputation and their points – all while keeping their own name and personal style front and centre.

Instructors can confidently sell their own lessons and teach with peace of mind.

Instructors may also earn commission and points purely by selling lessons and assigning those lessons to other instructors to deliver.

Instructors can receive TXSNOW-assigned lessons based on their points weighting.

    • 2.2 Q: What “ready-to-use” resources and tools does TXSNOW provide?

      A:

      • Processes & forms: Statement of Work(SOW), pre-lesson information form, post-lesson feedback form, incident report form, instructor evaluation form, etc.
      • Teaching resources: age- and level-based teaching plans, “goal–practice–review” structures, Kids Master (KM) grouping suggestions, etc.
      • SOPs: Safety SOP, KM Safety SOP, Incident Reporting SOP, TXSNOW Reschedule & Cancellation – Instructor SOP & Policy Guide, and more.
      • Policies ready to send to participants: on-time & late-arrival policy, reschedule & cancellation policy, refund & validity policy.
      • Teaching guides: KM Instructor Program Guide and Snow Buddies Discovery Program Guide.
    • 2.3 Q: I only teach adults and have no experience teaching children. Will I be assigned children’s lessons or even children’s group lessons like in many traditional snow schools?

A: No, you do not need to worry about that.

TXSNOW has a dedicated Kids Master Program for children aged 1–11. Only instructors who pass a strict screening process and meet the required minimum teaching hours are allowed to teach this age group.

We certify those who want to teach children and are able to teach children as KM instructors and let them handle children’s lessons. Adult-only instructors without children’s teaching experience will not be forced into children’s lessons or children’s group lessons.

If you currently have no experience but are interested in children’s teaching, you can gradually build experience through shadowing, assisting, and teaching friends and families’ kids.

    • 2.4 Q: I value flexibility and don’t like fixed teaching hours. Is TXSNOW a good fit for me?

A: Yes. TXSNOW acts as a “software toolbox” that supports instructors, allowing you to keep a very flexible personal schedule. Whenever you want to sell or teach lessons, you simply use the TXSNOW digital operating system — it saves both time and effort.

You do not need to pre-commit to a fixed number of teaching hours. You sell and take lessons based on your own availability. For example, if you have sold a lesson you don’t want to teach it yourself, you can assign it to another instructor to deliver and still receive your commission and points.

    • 2.5 Q: I really want to sell my own lessons, but I don’t know how to sell. Will there be any training?

      A: Yes.

Any instructor who wants to sell their own lessons is welcome to contact TXSNOW. We provide dedicated sales training for instructors, including how to introduce your lesson, how to recommend suitable lesson combinations, and how to use the platform tools to complete booking and follow-up.

    • 2.6 Q: How do I take lesson from TXSNOW? After signing with TXSNOW, am I guaranteed lessons or a minimum number of hours?

A: There is no guarantee of lesson volume or minimum hours. Joining TXSNOW does not constitute a promise of guaranteed scheduling or minimum work hours.

TXSNOW assigns lessons based on a points-weighted system. Points are built from multiple dimensions, including (but not limited to): your own lesson sales, lesson delivery and participant rating, content and outreach, recruitment and ecosystem building, and ongoing professional development (PD). The higher your points, the higher your priority in scheduling. For reasons of safety and compliance, TXSNOW reserves the final right to assign and adjust lessons.

(For details on the points system, please see Section 5 “Points Rules” of the TXSNOW Instructor Agreement.)

    • 2.7 Q: Do I have to be good at “selling lessons”? If I’m not good at sales, does that mean I won’t get any lessons?

A: No. Sales is a bonus, not the only path.

The platform is designed with multiple sources of points, for example:

      Lesson delivery & experience: arriving on time, safe and complete delivery, full feedback records, positive reviews and repurchases;

      Content & outreach: sharing / co-creating official content, producing high-quality teaching notes, short videos and posts;

      Recruitment & ecosystem: referring qualified instructors to join, participating in events and projects;

Professional Development (PD): recent refreshers or further training within the last three seasons, or completing required shadowing / refreshers in higher-risk participant groups (such as KM, CADS, etc.).

So even if you’re not naturally strong at sales, you can still steadily build up your points — and therefore your scheduling priority — through these other pathways.

    • 2.8 Q: Will my personal brand (personal “IP”) conflict with the platform brand?

A: No. TXSNOW encourages instructors to build their own IP.

TXSNOW provides the tools and the stage; you bring your personality and style.

    • 2.9 Q: How exactly are lessons assigned “based on points”? Can you give some examples?

A: The system calculates real-time points for every instructor. When new lessons are released for a given time slot / resort, they are first offered to instructors with higher points whose availability and skills match that lesson.

      Examples:

Example 1: Instructor A has completed 12 high-rated lessons and shared 10 pieces of TXSNOW content in the last 30 days; Instructor B has only taught 4 lessons and has not submitted feedback. Under the same availability conditions, instructor A will have higher priority.

Example 2: Instructor C independently sells and delivers a 2:4 dynamic group lesson with excellent feedback. The system awards points both for sales and for delivery, so C will be given higher priority for future lessons in similar time slots.

Example 3: Instructor D is not strong at sales but has excellent PD records, strong post-lesson feedback, and actively co-creates content. D’s scheduling weight will also continue to rise over time.

    • 2.10 Q: Where can I see the detailed rules for points?

A: Please refer to Section 5 “Points Rules” of the TXSNOW Instructor Agreement.

    • 2.11 Q: I am a Level 2 instructor. Can I accept a lesson at a Level 1 price?

      A: Yes.

You may choose to take a Lesson at the Level 1 rate. We will note this separately on your payroll record.

    • 3. About TXSNOW
    • 3.1 Q: Does TXSNOW have professional commercial insurance that meets resort requirements?

      A:

Yes. TXSNOW carries CAD $10 million in commercial general liability (CGL) insurance.

      ·       Mt. St. Louis

      ·       Lakeridge

      ·       Horseshoe

      ·       Dagmar

    • 3.3 Q: What problem does TXSNOW’s “shared professional platform model” actually solve?

A: We turn ski/snowboard teaching into a professional service with built-in infrastructure:

      · Clear procedures: complete SOPs and forms that reduce trial-and-error costs.

      ·  Clear records: lesson records, outcome checks and a transparent link to payment, so roles, responsibilities and income are clearly defined.

      ·  Clear risk planning: incident reporting, emergency procedures and insurance communication guidelines, so your personal risk burden is reduced.

In one line: you focus on teaching and service; TXSNOW provides the structure and protection around you.

    • 3.4 Q: Is TXSNOW still recruiting instructors?

A: Yes. Our instructor sign-up portal is open 24/7, all year round. Instructors are always welcome to join TXSNOW.

    • 3.5 Q: How can I become a TXSNOW instructor? What are the requirements?

A: Please visit the TXSNOW website and go to:
Home → Instructor Tools → Instructor Recruit → Instructor Onboarding
for current requirements and the application page.

    • 3.6 Q: If I join TXSNOW, can I also work with other snow schools or organizations? If I leave, can I sign again later?

A: Yes. TXSNOW works on a non-exclusive basis.

We ask instructors to follow our privacy and brand guidelines:

      ·  when teaching for different organizations, use each organization’s own uniform and content;

      ·  do not mix or cross-use branding.

If you decide to return after leaving, please don’t hesitate to contact us. TXSNOW is always happy to welcome you coming back.

    • 3.7 Q: Can I join the TXSNOW operations team?

      A: Yes.

      1.     Anyone is welcome to apply to be involved in operations. You can contact our operations team via the official TXSNOW WeChat account or by emailing info@t-xsnow.com.

      2.     You may help with day-to-day management, operations coordination, or brand and partnership discussions.

      3.     If you plan to work in snow-sports operations in the future and want hands-on experience, TXSNOW is a place where you can learn how a snow school is actually run.

      4.     If you are an outstanding operations talent, we may consider investing in your future snow school, or even entrusting part of TXSNOW’s operations and related equity to you.

      5.     After initial discussions with an applicant, we will prepare a written plan describing the role, scope of work and the compensation or incentives involved.

      6.     TXSNOW is built on mutual equality and mutual respect. We welcome all constructive plans and open conversations.

    • 3.8 Q: Where can I find the TXSNOW instructor handbook?

    • 4.2 Q: How are lessons priced?

      A: For details, please see:
      https://mall.t-xsnow.com/product/snowbook1/

    • 4.3 Q: What is “KM”?

A: “KM” stands for Kids Master Program, an age-based children’s program created by TXSNOW.

It designs KM lesson content and duration based on a child’s age, stamina, energy level and attention span.

The KM Program groups children into three age bands:

      1.     Toddler ·  ages 1–4

      2.     Little Hero ·  ages 5–7

      3.     Big Brave · ages 8–11

This age grouping helps us accurately match each child with the KM instructor best suited to their age and stage.

For details, please refer to the TXSNOW KM Instructor Program Guide.

    • 4.4 Q: What is the Snow Buddies Discovery Program ?

      A:

4.4.1 Snow Buddy Intro Program – children’s guide (ages 1–11)

      Positioning

      ·       What it is:
An on-snow, play-based intro experience inspired by Montessori principles.
Through the instructor’s companionship and gentle guidance, the goal is to help children build a sense of safety and interest, and “make friends with snow” through natural experiences and play scenarios — including (but not limited to) building snowmen, snowball fights, games, and snow hiking.

      ·       What it is not:

It does not include systematic technical instruction or level assessments.

It does not replace parental supervision or act as a child-care service (parents retain full supervisory responsibility).

Who it is for / typical scenarios

      ·       Children who feel nervous about the resort environment or about strangers, and need time with an instructor to build trust first.

      ·       Children who need a low-pressure warm-up / interest-building phase — “play happily first, then move into technical learning”.

      ·       Children who have already taken technical lessons and want to consolidate and free-practice in a non-technical, more relaxed setting.

      ·       Situations where parents are not skiing that day or cannot supervise the child closely for the whole time, or the child has more energy than the parent can keep up with.

4.4.2 Snow Buddies Discovery Program – 12+ guide (youth / adults)

      Positioning

      ·       A shared on-snow discovery experience for ages 12–18 and adults:
skiing or riding together with an instructor to get to know the resort, plan routes and pacing, experience different instructor styles and resort stories, and build safety, confidence and social comfort through shared laps.

      ·       What it is not:

It does not include systematic technical instruction or level assessments.

It does not include any child-care or supervision function.

      Who it is for

      ·       Youth or adults who already have basic skiing / riding ability and want a professional “snow buddy” to help them get familiar with the resort and improve route choice and terrain judgment.

      ·       Youth who are more introverted or whose parents do not feel comfortable letting them roam the resort entirely on their own.

      ·       Anyone who wants to experience different instructor styles and ways of choosing and organizing runs.

4.4.3 For more details, please see the Snow Buddies Discovery Program Lesson Guide.

    • 4.5 Q: What is a “2:4 dynamic group lesson”? Is it true that a Level 1 lesson is only CAD $119 per person for 2 hours?

      A:

      TXSNOW’s original 2:4 model means:
      2 instructors, 4 participants.
You get 1-on-4 pricing with service quality better than a typical 1-on-2.

      ·       Dynamic instructor grouping:

A “fast track” group to charge ahead, and a “steady track” group to consolidate.

Two instructors can constantly adjust and look after different participants in real time:

one focuses on new skills (for example, edge changes), while the other fine-tunes details.

Compared with a 1-on-2, there is less waiting and the overall efficiency is higher.

      ·       To form a 2:4 group, instructors / participants only need to post on social media, find 4 participants of similar level, and the group is set.

      ·       If participants want to save another CAD $10 per person,
they only need to post on social media with the 2V4 poster and include the hashtag #TXSNOW2:4.

    • 4.6 Q: For a 2:4 dynamic group lesson, can we mix 2 snowboarders and 2 skiers in the same group?

      A: No.

A 2:4 group must be either:

      ·       4 snowboarders of similar level, or

      ·       4 skiers of similar level.

We do not mix snowboard and ski participants in the same 2:4 group.

    • 4.7 Participant Q: For a 2:4 dynamic group lesson, will TXSNOW help me find the other 3 participants?

      A:

Using a 2:4 lesson at MSLM as an example:

      ·       If you want the instructor / TXSNOW to help match your group,
      the standard pricing is:

Level 1: CAD $119 per person for 2 hours

Level 2: CAD $139 per person for 2 hours

Level 3: CAD $169 per person for 2 hours

      ·       If you post on social media yourself, using the 2:4 poster + hashtag #TXSNOW2:4, and you successfully find teammates of similar level at the same time and resort, then the price for the participant who has posted becomes:

Level 1: CAD $109 per person for 2 hours

Level 2: CAD $129 per person for 2 hours

Level 3: CAD $159 per person for 2 hours

    • 4.8 Q: Is the 2:4 dynamic group lesson easy to sell? Is it competitive in the market?

      A:

      ·       It is highly competitive:
In the market, a Level 1 1-on-2 lesson is typically around CAD $130 per person, and a Level 2 1-on-2 is around CAD $150 per person –
and those products usually do not offer a two-instructor dynamic model like 2:4.

Our 2:4 pricing can go as low as:

Level 1: CAD $109 per person

Level 2: CAD $129 per person

Level 3: CAD $159 per person

      ·       It is generally easy to sell:

once instructors post the 2:4 poster and pricing, participants are usually very interested.
On top of that, in order to form a group and get the extra CAD $10 discount, participants themselves will actively post and help find their own teammates.

    • 4.9 Q: If a participant asks whether paying cash can be tax-free, whether lessons can be discounted, or whether there is a discount for buying more lessons, how should I respond?

      A:

      1.     Compliance and payment:
      TXSNOW strictly follows Canadian law.
All payments are made through our website, and all listed prices are before tax.
TXSNOW does not accept cash, and cash payments cannot be used to avoid tax.

      2.     Instructor discount privilege:
We support instructors offering discounts to friends and families. Each instructor has the right to offer a 10% discount up to three times per month.
Discounted lessons must be taught by the instructor who offered the discount.
The discount is shared proportionally between TXSNOW and the instructor.

      3.     Returning-client discounts:
TXSNOW values the trust of returning participants.
Participants who booked lessons with us in the previous consecutive season can enjoy special returning-participant discounts in the following season.

      4.     Package discounts:
We offer discounts on multi-lesson packages of 5, 10 and 20 lessons.
Through clear lesson deliverables, our CRM system, and a range of participant benefits,
we aim to bring high-quality lesson products to clients who care deeply about the quality of their snow-sports learning experience.

    • 5. Compensation & Benefits
    • 5.1 Q: How is pay calculated, and when is it paid?

      A:

      5.1.1 Regular lessons
Compensation is calculated per lesson, and each lesson has three components:

      1.     Basic lesson pay

      2.     Sales commission

      3.     New participant referral bonus

Because TXSNOW has multiple lesson types (for example 1:1, 2:4 dynamic group lessons), different instructor levels (L1 / L2 / L3…), and different resort rate structures (for example Blue Mountain Resort), we do not list every single base rate here.

Below are approximate reference numbers for 2-hour on-snow lessons:

      1-on-1

      ·       Level 1 instructor: up to $145 for 2 hours

      ·       Level 2 instructor: up to $180 for 2 hours

      ·       Level 3 instructor: up to $240 for 2 hours

      1-on-2

      ·       Level 1 instructor: up to $220 for 2 hours

      ·       Level 2 instructor: up to $250 for 2 hours

      ·       Level 3 instructor: up to $290 for 2 hours

      1-on-3

      ·       Level 1 instructor: up to $290 for 2 hours

      ·       Level 2 instructor: up to $320 for 2 hours

      ·       Level 3 instructor: up to $335 for 2 hours

Some Kids Master (KM) lessons pay higher than the above.
If you would like more detailed information, please contact the official TXSNOW account.

5.1.2 2:4 dynamic group lesson – how it is calculated

      Commission:
If an instructor brings in 4 new participants and completes the sale,
the new-participant bonus + sales commission is $20 per participant,
for a total commission of $80 per lesson.

      On-snow teaching pay (base pay):
Using Blue Mountain Resort as an example, for a 2-hour 2:4 lesson:

      ·       Level 1 instructor base pay: $180

      ·       Level 2 instructor base pay: $210

      ·       Level 3 instructor base pay: $250

      Total (example):
If one instructor recruits 4 new participants, completes the sale and teaches the 2:4 lesson at Blue Mountain Resort, the total pay for that 2-hour lesson can be:

      ·       Level 1 instructor: up to $260

      ·       Level 2 instructor: up to $290

      ·       Level 3 instructor: up to $330

      5.1.3 Payment schedule
Amounts payable to instructors are settled monthly,
and are paid via direct deposit into the instructor’s designated bank account during the first week of each calendar month.

    • 5.2 Q: Can instructor pay be made in cash?

      A: No.

All instructor compensation is paid as independent contractor income
and is deposited via direct deposit into the instructor’s bank account.
TXSNOW does not pay instructors in cash.

    • 5.3 Q: What benefits does TXSNOW offer to instructors?

    • 6. Lesson Details
    • 6.1 Q: If a participant runs out of energy, under the weather, wants to switch to someone else to continue the lesson, or end the lesson early, what should I do?

      A:

      1.     If the participant wants to end the lesson early due to their own situation, please follow the TXSNOW Lesson Purchase and Service Agreement:

If a participant experiences injury or discomfort during the lesson and needs to rest or seek medical attention, the lesson ends immediately. There is no refund, no reschedule, and no make-up time.
If, after appropriate handling, there is still remaining time within the original booking and conditions allow, you may continue with the remaining portion of the lesson.

      2.     Instructors still have many ways to deliver the lesson within the scheduled time, for example:

watching and explaining teaching videos together,

       answering questions and debriefing technique,

going over equipment setup and basic snow-sports knowledge, etc.

      3.     Instructors are encouraged to keep their own knowledge up to date, so that even off-snow time can still be meaningful and educational for participants.

      4.     If the participant wants to switch to another person, and the instructor agrees, please make sure the new participant has completed both the waiver and the pre-lesson information form before continuing the lesson.
